#IFeelGood about my education! Or viral campaigns in practise

Why study business you might ask? In this competitive job market it is extremely important not only to have a degree but also to have experience in the feel. When it comes to digital marketing practical knowledge is the key.

However, I found that University of Salford Business School found a perfect balance between theory and practise. My recent project aim was to create a viral campaign to promote school and use all social media marketing knowledge to spread the message.

Me and my team came up with a message that students feel good when they are better placed at Salford Business School and implemented that into a video.

So studying business in an innovative and excellent teaching environment does make you feel good for your future. Have a look at this 'Why study business' website  and be #BetterPlacedat salford Business School.

What is Digital Marketing Manager?

What it means to be a digital marketing manager?

My name is Diana Tolockaite and I’m looking into working as digital marketing manager in the future.  Today I am going to answer a few significant questions about what is digital marketing and what skills are required to work in the industry.

What is Digital Marketing?

Digital Marketing is an increasing hub for customer-centric communications in an multi-channel environment. The interesting and probably the most challenging element of digital marketing is that it requires a lot of knowledge, ideas and logical thinking. This is because it is related with Marketing and Consumer Behaviour, Strategic Short and Long Term Planning as well as Technological awareness.

Some of the key variations of digital marketing can include:

  • Email Marketing
  • Types of Online Advertising
  • PR
  • Viral Campaigns
  • Affiliate Marketing
  • Social Media Marketing
  • SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  • PPC ( Pay Per Click)

What skills digital marketing manager needs?

As you can see from digital marketing elements above, digital marketing consists of different types of marketing. However, the most important link between them is the consumer and his needs. A great example of current consumer trends in digital marketing was presented on Econsultancy blog.

One of the examples they suggest is that there is a need to improve Mobile email marketing. For you, as a digital marketing manager, it means that you have to develop great communication skills with the client and combine you Mobile knowledge to increase consumer engagement on their Mobile devices.

Also, here is a great video to watch about digital marketing. You can also have a look at this one:

Build an Online Personal Brand

Social Media Network is a great tool to show future employees how active, dedicated and involved you are in the current affairs. Use SEO and optimize your profiles with essential keywords. Also become the member of relevant groups like Manchester Digital, Digital Marketing and Social Media, Social Media Marketing. Don’t forget to get involved in conversation and familiarise yourself with key topics. That way you will be able to build knowledge necessary to gain practical skills.

Get Marketing Experience

Ashley Friedlein, a man who you need to follow and read his blog, suggested that you should not limit yourself just to being ‘digital’ marketer. He outlined the importance of social, mobile, content strategy, video or product manager.
It is significant to have an open mind when it comes to digital marketing. Be out- there, current, flexible and innovative. That is the route for successful digital marketing manager in 2013.
